T. Patterson Speed Drive Review

What the T. Patterson Surfboards website says about the Speed Drive:

‘This is more of your everyday performance board for surfing waves like Trestles in Southern California. The Speed Drive is your high performance shortboard we just cut it down an inch or two and added more over all foam in the width and thickness and rails and lowered the rocker a little. There’s also a little magic in the rocker to give you that extra speed and lift off so your not getting stuck in those dead sections. Single concave bottom. Medium entry rocker and slight flip in the tail. Lots of volume under your front foot and the volume stays full all the way out to the rails. More of a medium full rail. Performance grovel outline cut down with a hip near the tail bringing in the tail block slightly for snappier faster rail to rail surfing. Works great as a tri fin set up with either squash, swallow, or round tail.’

What people are saying about it:

“The Speed Drive is your go-to board. With low entry-rocker and a forward center point, this board brings an aggressive skate-induced feel to every session. The Speed Drive is a staple in every quiver, offering versatility and performance no matter the conditions.” – SURFER Magazine

“The Speed Drive holds true to it’s name with it’s ability to generate and hold speed and drive right from the start and through your turns. With a medium entry rocker, flat through the center and flip out the tail, this board paddles great, holds speed and keeps performance levels up when the waves are down.

Designed as a groveler for those smaller to medium days, the Speed Drive will handle all conditions and up to around head high+. Beach breaks, smaller reefs and points are all in the bag with the Speed Drive.” – Boardcave
