What the T. Patterson site says about the Rising Sun:
‘This board is designed to generate maximum speed out of every wave and every turn. The wide point is pushed further up the board but we were still able to pull in the tip of the nose just a little bit allowing the board to drive in and out of turns without compromising speed. The Rising Sun is designed with lots of volume, fuller outline, and a fuller double wing rounded squash tail design. The Rising Sun has a flat deck that slowly creeps into a semi down rail.Bottom has a slight double concave to vee off the tail, The Rising Sun has a medium entry rocker and slight kick in the tail for ultimate high performance. Ridden as a tri fin and works best with big twin fin side fins and a small center trailer fin.
Width can go 1/4” wider or narrow) (thickness can go 1/16” thicker or thinner)’
What people are saying about it:
“The Rising Sun is a board that will dangerously become your go-to for 90% of your surfing. The wider outline is in contrast to a nicely pulled in nose and a double bump pulled in squash tail. This gets you into waves easily and flying over flat sections, but also keeps you carrying your speed through your turns and highly responsive off the tail. The flip in the tail only adds to the performance of this board.
A serious go-to board for the majority of your daily surfs, the Rising Sun works extremely well in waves ranging in size from ankle high to overhead and any condition. Glassy, windy, punchy beach break, lined up points, etc. you name it this board loves it.” – Boardcave.com.au
“Had T.Patterson stretch one out an made it a little thinner to be an all rounder and it makes surfing so much fun. You can put it anywhere even on a small flat wave with lots of drive and rocker/outline that handle hollow love.” – Steve on Surfscience.com
