What the JS Industries site says about the Monsta:

‘MONSTA 3 is the highest performing, most versatile board in the JS range. MONSTA was credited ‘2013 surfboard of the year’ by the ASRA (Australian Surf Retailers Awards), helped Parko secure his 2012 world title victory and has since appeared on numerous WCT and QS podiums worldwide.

I have made some slight changes to the MONSTA 3 this year. The outline has slightly more hip which helps with quicker turns and adds drive from the tail area. I have also softened the rails a little to make it even more forgiving. Other key changes, in 2015, are the combination of the rocker and bottom contours, which give MONSTA 3 a perfect balance of speed, drive and release in all types of waves and conditions.

Thanks to feedback and testing from Parko, Dusty, Ace, Julian, Owen, Kalani and a host of other rippers, MONSTA 3 has become the ultimate all-round performer and is still the most asked for board by both pro’s and everyday surfers alike!’

What people are saying about it:

“Now in it’s 3rd incarnation, the JS Monsta is a board that is dependable in everything from 2 foot slop to 6ft overhead. The latest JS Monsta has less volume in the rails but hides it over the stringer, so you’ve got the buoyancy you need to get on early.

One of the reasons for the popularity of the JS Monsta 3 is that it’s really suited to a wide range of waves, it’s fast and it’s pretty much a perfect all rounder.

The JS Monsta has relatively low entry rocker and that gives it a lot of speed down the line. Add to that, the fact that the JS Monsta 3 has a little more release in the tail than it’s predecessors, you get a fast, agile all round board suited to pretty much everything you can throw at it.” – Surfing-Review.com

“Those boards are so consistent. I can pretty much pick one up and know it’s gonna go in the type of waves I need it for – I ride JS most as brand new boards in heats. I probably had 40 Monstas in this past year and this model is one of my moneymakers.” – Julian Wilson on StabMag.com

“Quite possibly the worlds best all round performer. MONSTA 3 model is the most all round high performance board in the JS quiver. Its been credited as the 2013 surfboard of the year by the ASRA (Australian Surf Retailers Awards) as well as playing a major part in Parko’s WCT victory.” – CleanLineSurf.com

“Slotting into the huge gap between perfection and slop, the Monsta has been building momentum since its release in 2010, undergoing a series of loving tweaks and adjustments to arrive at the Monsta 3. Medium rails allow performance turns without being too ‘catchy’ in choppy or soft sections. a medium/low entry rocker creates speed and drive in small to average conditions, while a medium exit rocker provides a good balance between drive and release through the tail.” – David on CarveMag.com
