What the Jim Banks website says about the MKIV:
‘Pretty much impossible to have a bad surf on one of these! Very fun board for all sorts of surf. Developed from the classic Steve Lis fish designs of the 70’s, and with more than 10 years of refinements under its belt, the MKIV is a very versatile and easy board to ride.
The MKIV has slightly less tail rocker and a touch more nose lift than the Magic Carpet allowing it to surf more like a conventional board. A single concave provides smooth control and stability through turns and critical sections. Overall it’s a very easy to surf fish, with a tremendous ability to surf a wide range of conditions, from top to bottom barrels to knee high onshore mush.
The MKIV really does makes any surf fun and if you haven’t got one of these, you’re missing out…’
What people are saying about it:
“Had two sessions on it yesterday and I can only say that IT RIPS! It seems to do everything really well – paddle onto waves, handle late take-offs, hang in on a steep wall, ride through flat spots. I was struck with how fluid and natural it feels and how you just know what it’s doing under your feet – I felt that I was surfing better than I have for ages.” – Dave on the Jim Banks Surfboards website
“A note to say huge thanks for the Fish that you made for me. I have never enjoyed my surfing so much. Only problem, is that none of my other boards ever get used any more, I am addicted to it! Thanks again.” – Mike on the Jim Banks Surfboards website
