It can be argued that a good surfer can ride any surfboard and make it look good. Though true, having the right one doesn’t hurt either especially when you’re competing. Mother Nature can be pretty unpredictable. One minute it’s pumping and the next it’s flat as a lake. And Conner Coffin knows this well.
Conner has built his quiver to a point where he’s confident to surf regardless of conditions. And in this video, he showed what board he chose to use in competing at Jeffreys Bay. (Hint: It’s a prototype he’s been developing with Channel Islands and could be the follow up to his Fred Rubble.)
He may not have won, but that doesn’t discount the fact that he and J-Bay are a pretty good match.
