WSL Webcasts 22nd Edition of ‘Anglet Surf de Nuit’

Anglet will be hosting the 22nd edition of its annual Night Surfing event on August 19, 2106. World Surf League (WSL) has sanctioned this year’s edition of the ‘Anglet Surf de Nuit’ as a specialty event in the qualifying series.

With the current week’s forecast showing very little signs of swell, the event organizers have decided to move the event to the 19th of August instead for a better chance of running the event in preferred conditions.

Chambre d’Amour beach will be lit up by huge balloons filled with helium gas. The 12 competing surfers will battle in a showdown with a prize money of €1,000.00. The winner of the event will also be given a wildcard slot into the QS1,500 Pro Anglet. Each competitor’s board will be lit with LED colored stripes on the decks.

The main night-surfing event will be preceded by an afternoon of exhibitions and Live music. The event is expected to kick off at 9pm local time. After 21 editions of this event, it will be the first time that it will be webcast LIVE through World Surf League’s website.

The competitors for the event have already been announced and confirmed.
They are:
