The focus turns one eighty degrees toward the US East Coast as the Men’s Qualifying Series (QS) Vans Pro heads to Virginia Beach in VA this coming August 23-28 and the WRV Outer Banks Pro at Nags Head, NC between August 31 and September 4.
The Vans Pro Men’s QS3000 is back on the schedule alongside East Coast Surfing Championships (ECSC). An event that will run for the 54th consecutive year. It The ECSC is the longest running surfing event in North America and second longest running in the world next to Bells Beach. The event has been pivotal in the qualification campaign of Kanoa Igarashi (USA) when his vital win helped him earn a spot in the Championship Tour.
After the Vans Pro, many of the QS surfers will head to Jeannette’s Pier on the shores of Nags Head in North Carolina for theWRV Outer Banks Pro QS 1000 event.
There will be a total of 4,000 points on offer for the qualifying series in the east coast events and it can shake the rankings of many QS surfers and can help build momentum as the QS heads into the latter half of the 2016 season.
