Hawaiian ripper Mason Ho recently signed a deal with Reef as the global surf lifestyle brand’s footwear ambassador.
Mason, who is well known for his warm and quirky demeanor, is a descendant from the Ho surfing dynasty. Mason’s father, Michael, won the Hawaiian Triple Crown twice, while his uncle Derek was crowned the 1983 World Champion. Mason’s sister Coco also made a name in the WSL Women’s World Tour.
The warm-hearted and charming Mason, who has a progressive approach and a unique style of surfing, is one of the most exciting surfers to watch today. His surfing videos are everywhere. This guy has the skills to be on par with the best big wave surfers in the world. He is one of the invitees to the prestigious annual In Memory of Eddie Aikau contest at Waimea Bay.
Ho recalled that when he was a kid, he’d always see that iconic REEF logo on his uncle Derek’s surfboard. So he’d draw the logo in art class at Sunset Elementary School. “Now to have Reef on my surfboard and be part of such a solid team and company makes me feel really special,” said Mason.
Reef’s marketing manager, Shea Perkins shared, “We are thrilled as a kid in a candy store with the addition of Mason to the Reef family.” Perkins added that Mason’s fun and infectious energy is what the brand is all about and that they’re looking forward to collaborating and encouraging the journey as Mason continues to surprise everyone.
Now 28 years of age, Mason often gets tapped every season as a wildcard for several WSL World Tour events and always puts up a good performance during the Hawaiian Triple Crown season. His surfing adventures and his charm gave him a solid base of social followers, which makes him a good fit into Reef’s team of ambassadors.
