Fistral beach, Cornwall, England, August 14, 2016: Alice Lemoigne and Edouard Delpero have been crowned as the European Long Boarding champions for the Women’s and Men’s Longboarding events.
The day started with clean and fun two foot surf at Fistral beach packed with people coming in to enjoy summer. The reigning World Longbaord Champion Rachael Tilly has posted a near perfect opener wave score of 9.33 out of a possible 10.00 on a long right-hander and multiple nose rides done in perfection all the way to the beach Alice Lemoigne took the first wave of the same set that Tilly went on but was unable to perform a clean ride and ended up with a 7.67.
With the swell slowly fading but continuously producing sets, Lemoigne was determined and tried taking on another similar wave and posted a 7.50 to take the lead from Tilly. She kept trying at every opportunity and was able to complete a good wave with an 8.83 score further building her lead. Her opponent exerted multiple efforts to take the lead back but was unable to get a good score to back up her 9.33. Lemoigne adds another win to her solid portfolio with her 3rd European Longboarding Championship.
In the Men’s Longboarding Event Final, Emilien Fleury and Edouard Delpero had strong back to back exchange of big scores for most of the heat. They’ve had long nose rides and drop knee carves.
Delpero was able to take the lead with a solid 8.97 with 10 minutes left while Fleury attempted to find an equally great ride to clinch the win for this event. Unfortunately his efforts were unable to produce enough points to surpass the lead.
