Cloudbreak, Fiji, May 23: The big wave surfer Aaron Gold nearly got killed after suffering a massive wipeout. The 34 year old, who just paddled one of the biggest waves of all time at Jaws several months ago, was found unconscious, attached to his board with his leash.
Intensive cardiopulmonary resuscitation has been administered and he was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention. Lucky enough, he survived.
A week later, Aaron Gold relates his experience in an interview with Matt Rott where he shares the lesson he learned from the incident.
“In the future I’ll make sure I have my equipment ready, floatation and boards. Lesson learned”
