Surfers from various parts of Europe have gathered in A Coruña for the inaugural edition of the Pro A Coruña Surf Fest. It was the first time that a surf festival like this happened in Europe. The event gathers all surfers from six categories including QS men & women, Longboard QS men and women, Junior QS men and women.
The event is a brand new addition to the European Circuit for this year. It has also attracted pro surfers from North and South-America, Africa and Australasia to discover hidden gems of Galicia.
A Coruña is the second-largest city of Galicia,in Spain. The city has been built around its huge port that plays a big role in the country’s shipments of agricultural goods from the region to various places all-over the world.
The event has kicked of Tuesday, with the men’s qualifying series action. It is the largest format of competition that includes 80 athletes competing. After this first event, the competition will move to the women’s QS and junior events on Wednesday and Thursday,and the Juniors will be set to finish on Friday to complete the QS and longboard events over the weekend.
