Since the unveiling of the KS Wave Co. in December 2015, the surf world had not heard of anything new from the surf ranch. Apart from it being a test site for research and development and a private place for high-profile guests, nothing was really clear about Kelly’s plans for it in the future.
Until recently, that is. The Sentinel has revealed that KS Wave Co. has applied for a permit stating that the facility plans to host music festivals as well as six major events. It also states that the ranch’s 50 employees are continuously developing their wave generation systems and there are plans to ramp up the venue with light and sound equipment as well as temporary bleachers.
What the permit app states:
“Operations under this SRCUP will permit up to six events per calendar year, including recreational and competitive surfing events, and ancillary music performances during a two-to-four day period (i.e. Thursday through Sunday evening). Event operation time will be from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Attendance is estimated to be up to 8,000 guests per day, over a two-to-four day period. Temporary bleachers, sound equipment, and lighting equipment may be set up for events and live music performances.”
What do you think? Will it be possible to watch a CT event at Lemoore, California soon? Stay tuned as things progress.
