Chilli Grom Plus Review

What the Chilli Surfboards site says about the Grom Plus:

‘Say hello to our new little friend the new improved Grom Plus. This board has evolved from a mixture of Project Black models we have made over the years for our team riders Laura Enever, Matt King and more recently super mini grom Kobi Clements. We have basically squashed the nose and tail slightly together, widened the outline that brings us a board allowing you to ride 2-4 inches smaller than your current board. Having width under the front foot with a pulled in squash tail allows for a quick acceleration surfboard but with enough foam to get thru those dead sections. Having a more rounded outline (which is the main difference from our previous Grom model) means turning is a lot easier and can take your shredding to the next level also don’t be fooled it’s very user-friendly for all ages and levels of surfing. We offer this with a free tail spray and carbon tail. Groms, come and get em.’

What people are saying about it:

“The younger surfer looking to take their surfing to the next level. The Chilli Grom Plus can be ridden 2-4 inches shorter than your current board due to its wider outline which also offers a little extra planing speed, paddle power and stability for the smaller surfer. The Grom Plus has been refined with the super grom Kobi Clements in the maMaldives.” – Boardcave

“The Chilli grom Plus, is the new board shaped, all for groms! A widened out line & squashed nose & tail, it’s a mixture of the old Project Black models, that have been made for team riders over the years such as, Laura Enever & more recently, super grom, Kobi Clements. Do yourself a favour & watch the video below of young Kobi shredding on the Grom Plus. With the width under the front foot & a pulled in squash at the tail, allows for quick acceleration & some paddle power. If you are, or have a grom who is looking to step up to the next level with their surfing but still have a whole lot of fun then the Grom Plus is for you!” – Tradewind Surf

“Chilli has worked closely with arguably the best under 16 year old surfers in the world – Matt Banting, Cooper Chapman, Tylah Hutchinson and Creed McTaggart – to develop the Chilli Grom Model. This design combines a low entry full board rocker, flipped out tail for tight snappy turns with a slightly fuller plan shape to handle new school moves.” – Surf Science

“Very good board , sometimes difficult to paddle but very easy to move and get speed and let’s me land more turns.” – user on Surf Science
