Chemistry Chem Zen Review

What the Chemistry Surfboards site says about the Chem Zen:

‘The Chem Zen is a perfect mix between old and new design that can be ridden in a variety of waves. Developed with team rider Mike Gleason, this board is built for speed and control in the pocket of hollow waves. The board’s wide point is moved forward and its has a full foil through the midpoint to the nose. This helps the board paddle easy as well as enhances its planing ability in flat sections and in the pocket. It also has a narrow round pin tail that increases its maneuverability and keeps the board locked in the pocket when the waves are hollow. Works well as a thruster or quad so the 5 fin set up is the best choice. Recently Mike has been really happy with the Chem Zen as a quad and with a 6 channel bottom.’

What people are saying about it:

“The board rips.” – user B Sink on SurfScience

“The board works amazing. Great for the experienced ripper and or beginner looking to get into surfing this summer.” – user DKennedy on SwellInfo

“That board worked great.” – user noshowjoe78 on Instagram

“The Chem Zen is a full on barrel chasing board, perfect for the hollow winter conditions here in NJ. Every aspect of the board is geared towards chasing barrels. The tail is pulled into a rounded pin. The rails are a bit harder than your standard shortboard, and a solid amount of volume is pushed under the chest so it paddles well. The board is a quad set up which produces even more drive.” – Jake’s Surf Shop

“It’s the subtle things that make a board what it is, and when it comes to heavy winter surf those little details make all the difference. The #chemzen by @chemistrysurfboards is that difference maker.” – inlet_outlet on Instagram
