Chemistry Beaker Review

What the Chemistry Surfboards site says about the Beaker:

‘Hands down the most successful model in our board line up. The Beaker model’s versatility in 90% of the waves we face everyday has made it an ideal choice for someone trying to get the most use out of one board in their quiver. It is categorized in our small wave line but still performs like a legitimate high performance board. This model generates speed easily while still maintaining control in the pocket. This board has relatively low rocker in the nose and tail and fuller rails. The tail is a very subtle double bump squash. This board is ridden 2″-3″ shorter and 3/4″- 1″ wider than your standard shortboard. The bottom contour that has worked best for this model is a slight single concave feeding into a slight double concave.’

What people are saying about it:

“Surfers like to surf every day, and if you’re on that program, Jason Bennett, shaper and founder of Chemistry surfboards, has you dialed with the Beaker model. The board features a wider nose and tail but still has all the technical elements that make up a shortboard and will be able to hold in a little bit bigger surf—so it is a great all around surfboard ranging from 2 feet to 6 feet.” – user prosurfgear on YouTube

“I surf el porto in manhattan beach and my current board is a chemistry beaker. 6ft, 20 wide and 2.5 thick. 34 liters total volume. Great board when I was transitioning to my first short board, but now looking to go a bit smaller as my surfing improves.” – Christopher Erwin on YouTube

“The Beaker is the most successful board in the Chemistry Surfboards lineup. With a subtle double bump in the outline of the tail, this board can generate plenty of speed while still performing well in the pocket. With a slight single to double concave combined with a relatively low rocker, you get plenty of speed planing and getting onto waves.” – Boardcave

“The Beaker model’s versatility in 90 percent of the waves makes it an ideal choice for a one-board quiver. Works in small waves, but performs like a high-performance board. It generates speed easily while still maintaining control in the pocket. Has low rocker in the nose and tail and fuller rails. This board is ridden 2 to 3 inches shorter and 3/4 to 1 inch wider than your standard shortboard.” – Surfer.com
