Channel Islands The Robber Review

What the Channel Islands site says about The Robber:

‘From the mind of Machado came the Robber in 2009, another addition to our fun short/wide boards that fly. Full and flat in front, thin and narrow in the tail. The tail is a winged swallow with spiral vee out the back. Originally designed to be ridden with the Twin Finner fins, this board also works great as a thruster. This design was originally ridden in the movie Sprout. CUSTOM order ONLY.’

What people are saying about it:

My best part of riding this Al Merrick creation was backhand cutbacks – it seems this board was made for them. Starting off I’d draw an easy line out onto the face and then arc fairly sharply around. The board turns on a dime with instant response to back foot pressure and rockets back around. Hitting the foam the board spins back with awesome release landing you, ready, in the pocket to do it all again.” – Bradley Hook on surfd.com

Logged in 5 more sessions. Rob Machado and Al Merrick are two geniuses for coming up with this design. Tail designed for fast turns and volume in the front for speed. Concaves are sexxxyyyy. I absolutely love this board. I’m sooo surfing buzzed…..” – user surfsquish on Surfer Mag

Love it!” – Jem Sinclair Ozsoy on Facebook

I used the Robber for a few years… good to make power turns and surfing fast little barrels. This board is so fast, gives your surfing new challenge, so much fun.” – user RoBBeRRules on surfd.com

I surfed the Robber almost exclusively. I didn’t really have any problems getting into waves… the board goes really fast without much effort at all…” – user Kaiser_Sosa on Surfer Mag
