Channel Islands Flyer II Review

What the Channel Islands site says about the Flyer II:

‘From 2000 to 2009 the Flyer II was considered the most versatile shortboard we made. Now available as a custom-only design. Full rails allow for floatation in small waves while the swallow tail keeps it solid in overhead surf. Order it 1/8″ thinner than your normal shortboard.

Ride the Flyer II about the same length as your height.’

What people are saying about it:

“This board is a great all around board. This is my favorite board in my quiver. I’ve ridden everything from knee high to head and a half high. It holds pretty well in pretty big waves. It doesn’t paddle as well as the flyer I.”
– Ricky on SurfScience.com

“Great board for chest high and better surf.” – Jon Courtney on SurfScience.com

“Great on clean fast waves, slow in the mushy stuff.” – Am on SurfScience.com

“Ride this board if you want to maintain the same speed and maneuverability you have on your shortboard in good waves but in small surf. Can be ridden by all styles of surfer.” – SurfRide.com

“I have ridden a Flyer II and a New Flyer in overhead waves and never had an issue.” – StuckFern on Reddit.com
