Deivid Silva and Pauline Ado were crowned winners of the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Casablanca held at Anfaplace Shopping Center in good three to five foot conditions.

In the opener of the final, Silva started off with a decent 6.5 score. Then he started building momentum on a big and hollower set wave where he showcased his power turns and earned an excellent 8.67 score by which he took the lead.

His opponent, Cloarec struggled to find a good opportunity for the first half of the final. He managed to catch up midway with a 6.40 ride. Silva then started on another good lefty on the ten minute mark. He disappeared behind the previous wave’s whitewater and reappeared taking huge turnes and completed his ride with an incredible 9.13 score. But he was not done yet, he continued building on his lead and scored a higher 9.33 a few minutes later to secure his win.

This win will be Silva’s third QS win throughout his career. He is determined to continue his rampage as he sits within the top ten of the qualifying series. He is keen to find opportunities for qualification to the Elite tour for the next season.

Cloarec was unfortunately unable to perform like he had previously in Morocco. He was forced to settle for the runner-up spot as a result. Cloarec’s second place finish pushed him from eight to the third spot on the regional rankings.

Meanwhile, on the women’s final heat, Pauline Ado set the pace with a 7 point ride to put pressure on her opponent early on. Her opponent, Dupont suffered a slow start similar to Cloarec’s. Dupont was unable to find the right waves in the high-tide lineup. Ado further backed up her main score with another 5.83 wave.

The rest of the heat was an exchange of meaningless scores where Ado was unable to improve on her score, while Dupont struggled to ride high scoring wave.

As the buzzer sounded, Ado claims her second QS victory of 2016. She has reached the final for the fourth time in Europe to secure the fifth European Champion title. Dupont keeps a 3-year domination streak on the regional rankings. She continues to battle to earn re-qualification among the top17.
